StanLil Construction is delighted to have contributed to the much-anticipated opening of British fashion retailer, END. Clothing in Glasgow this year.
The brand has been around for ten years although this is its first foray into Scotland. The retailer is known for bringing an international fashion presence to the High Street and Glasgow’s store provides customers with a rich array of familiar names across two floors, including Japanese fashion design and leading sportswear. The design of the store, as you would expect, is contemporary, metropolitan, and spacious with a grey and white colour-scheme. StanLil Construction were asked to fit ceilings, lighting, and partitioning, and to lay floor screed in preparation for finishing.
Creating a Contemporary Backdrop to Fashion for a fit-out in Glasgow
At StanLil we work a good deal with dry-lining partitioning as a way of providing flexible and efficient definition within a work or home environment. At END.Clothing the aim was to maintain the sense of an open, uncluttered space, whilst providing shape and focus to areas populated with grey sofas. We used textured floating partitions which were hung from the ceiling to provide a ‘backdrop’ rather than a permanent division of space. This ‘floating’ design was also used for the neon brand signs which appear through the store.
Suspended Ceilings with Lighting Troughs Contribute to the END. Environment
Lighting is incredibly important to retail stores; it provides shoppers with messages about the kind of store they’re entering, and it creates a context for the goods they’re selling. We were asked to fit suspended ceilings in the store, with lighting troughs supporting individual directional spotlights. The runway effect this created was punctuated with neon ‘END’ signs hung from the ceiling. Dry lining suspended ceilings are quick to install, provide an immaculate finish, and enable a range of design choices such as lighting troughs or concealed speakers.
