ACM Contractors: Cladding Replacement
Aluminium Composite Material Cladding
Aluminium Composite Material cladding (ACM) is made up of two skins of aluminium bonded to either side of a lightweight core of materials.
These can include polyethylene (PE), polyurethane (PUR), profiled metal or a mineral core.
ACM cladding became notorious following the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017.
It subsequently emerged that there were a range of other cladding materials that could behave in a similar way in a fire.
Private and Social Sector Residential ACM Cladding Replacement
Tests have shown that fire can rapidly spread through the voids in the cladding accelerating through the combustibles. Grenfell will still be fresh on many minds, but this was in 2017 and the replacement of dangerous cladding really has to be completed as a priority.
It is reported that as of May 2020 there are still more than two-thirds of those buildings classified as ‘high risk’ yet to have their cladding replaced – most of which are in London or Manchester.
Our team are on hand to guide you through the process and ensure you get all the help and expertise you need to successfully transform your building, including: testing, removal, replacement, and even advice on grants and funding.
*The government’ has also created a new £1bn ‘Building Safety Fund’ for the remediation of unsafe non-ACM cladding systems so if you have non-ACM or ACM cladding and have not yet replaced please contact us immediately.
We are CHAS, SafeContractor and Constructionline approved, and we are committed to ongoing health and safety training for all our employees and sub-contractors
