In the heart of London’s West End, situated on Argyll Street, you will find a fresh and unique take in retail design with South Korea’s global brand Gentle Monster. Venture inside and you will find a very contemporary look and feel; brightly lit with hundreds of clean white spots illuminating well thought out zones for you to browse. No, your eyes will not be deceiving you as you will find yourself surrounded by numerous robotic automatons interacting with each other, or other objects. It is retails living art and one backed up by the high-end spectacles nestled between such quality and unique finishes.

INTERIOR OF THE HIGHEST ORDER

StanLil’s successful tender for the internal packages included the structural steel works. The steel structure needed to be entirely contained within a passive fire protection system, utilising intumescent coatings and casing ensuring full fire rated compliance. The work carried out within the store was of a particularly detailed nature; the ceiling design and construction requirements included hundreds of small exposed facets and edges that needed to look sharp under the stores’ new lighting scheme. The very highest standards needed to be consistent, and efficiently employed throughout the project. Teamwork, experience and effective project management ensured that attention to detail and quality craftsmanship was delivered successfully.

HISTORIC FINISHING TOUCHES

This Grade 2 listed building included many original features including extensive decorative cornice. To allow access for the essential services and the steel work to be implemented, this cornice had to be removed. Once successfully removed and the associated works installed, all the historic cornicing and features were replaced by skilled craftsman. Exact GRG replicas being recreated to the exact design and finish of the originals ensured the continuity of these historic elements are retained for future generations.
