Modular Construction

Modular Construction

MODULAR CONSTRUCTION AS FLEXIBLE AS YOU NEED IT

Modular construction is the construction process where the component parts of the building, or the ‘modules’ are constructed off-site (usually in a factory setting) before they are transported to the construction site to be assembled.

These modules are built using the same standards and codes as if the building were constructed using more traditional methods, but this allows for a construction to be erected quicker.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO MODULAR CONSTRUCTION?

1. Greater Flexibility

With a modular approach, the modules can be rearranged or reused in different projects, meaning a reduction in overall waste and the opportunity to change the structure, without incurring any significant financial cost.

2. Quicker Turnaround Time

As the modules are built elsewhere, the overall time on-site for construction is reduced. This means that the building of the modules can take place whilst the foundations or base layers are implemented, as opposed to waiting for that part to be completed – saving you time and turning the project around quicker.

3. Greater Safety For Workers

As the modules are built in strictly controlled factories and warehouses, the need for workers to work at heights, or using dangerous machinery on-site is dramatically reduced. Site safety is a key element and any increase in safety can only be a benefit to workers.

A FIT OUT WITH MINIMAL RISK TO BUSINESS

There are numerous applications within construction for a modular building, and they do not have to look cheap, tacky or low-quality – a criticism often levied at modular-constructed buildings.

Once the modules are in place, the external envelope can then be applied using a cladding system and single ply roofing systems fixed to specific areas to maintain an airtight seal.

Thorough Planning and Well Designed Outcomes

Knowing your business, and understanding your workflow is key to the successful outcome of your modular construction project. We believe that careful planning, flexible scheduling, and skilled operations lead to successful outcomes.
